DIRECTORS’ REFLECTIONS - September 2008 Newsletter

            The dog days of August are upon us.  Especially in Florida with the hot, stormy days it is difficult to plan our rides.  That held true last month in July where we cancelled most of our rides.  We managed to get in our Abacoa ride despite the stormy ride home.  We have been doing breakfast rides as of late so we all get home before the inclement weather starts.  We had a breakfast ride to the Golden Corral in Okeechobee.  The 3 chapter (FL2-O, FL2-Z, FL2-A) was postponed to a later date TBA.  This way we have time to practice so we retain the trophy.  What a great way to beat the heat practicing our bowling skills in an air conditioned building!  We had a good visitation to Chapter FL2-D (Melbourne).  We mentioned we were riding to the Marsh Landing Restaurant  in Fellsmere.  There was a large group from Melbourne who joined in on the breakfast ride. We also had members from the Retread group.  We always appreciate their support.  We had a really great meeting this month with District Director Ed Carr and members from FL1-H (Daytona Bch) in attendance.  We welcome them all.  Take note of our upcoming ride schedule for some new and interesting places to go.  We'll see you out there!  As always, ride safely.     Ken and Linda Long, Chapter Directors
