DIRECTORS’ REFLECTIONS - June 2009 Newsletter

We had a busy end of April and early May.  Here is a recap of events.  April 18 we rode to Apopka for the Green Eggs and Ham Rally. April 25 we rode to Shark Valley in Everglades Nat'l. Park where we saw numerous alligators and birds.  May 2 we went on Hank's rescheduled ride to Cocoa and ate lunch at Corky Bell's.  If you leave there hungry it's all your fault! May 9 we rode to the Marsh Landing in Fellsmere for Mother's Day.

We had a wonderful meeting with many guests.  We always appreciate our visitors.  Let's start by mentioning Chapter FL2-R (Cooper City). Chapter Director Ron Feldman had four members with him.  Brian Witt from FL2-D (Melbourne) or FL2-N (Cocoa).  It all depends on whose shirt he is wearing that day! Bob Feehrer FL2-Z (Lake Park).  We had some out of town visitors from Virginia.  Representing Chapter VA-Y (Leesburg) Chapter Directors Tommy and Gayle Wilson along with member Claire Miller. We also had guest Thor Ruck from PSL.

There are some schedule changes to note.  The Road Captains Course has been cancelled.  Ray LaJoie has some medical issues and won't be there to help teach.  We wish Ray Godspeed and get well.  The Sunday bowling has been suspended due to Youth Bowling Tournaments for the next six weeks.  We want to thank Bob and Alice Feehrer for the photo taken at District Rally of Ken and me accepting the plaque. Gary Thorpe would have been the first winner of Ken's ride but was not here so the pot rolls over until next month. Please note we have a new Kick Tire at Working Man Cycles in Fort Pierce 1/4 mile south of Flying J starting about 6pm on Wednesday.
